Our 2021 Lily’s Blend, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, took Double Gold and 98 points at the 2024 California State Fair. The 2020 Lily’s Blend is the vintage on the shelf now.

Our story

Erosion control that turned into a vineyard

Larry and Esther Thal planted their vineyard in Lafayette in early 2010 and picked their first grapes in 2012. We make wine under two labels, Thal Vineyards and Stag Hill. Every wine page states its appellation.

More than half the planting is Cabernet Sauvignon

We have over 2,000 vines. More than half are Cabernet Sauvignon. The rest is divided between Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc.
